Grace of Fellowship 4

Logos is the Word of God, but Rhema is more than the Word; it is the living Word of God that jumps into your peculiar situation, and you can apply it to yourself to attune to the Will of God. When Communication ceases between two people, the closeness hitherto there disappears and is gone. You have to continue to communicate to remain close. Talking is different from Communication. Talking is just words expression from one person to another, whether the person understands or not, but Communication is deeper. It is a two-way affair. Seek to understand and be understood. It is a Win-Win situation.

Fellowship encompasses more than Communication, and when it involves God, it is an act of Worship. Can you imagine a husband and wife not being together or in fellowship? The absence of closeness between husband and wife leads to separation and divorce, so also lack of Fellowship with God leads to Spiritual separation of Spiritual death.

Marital conflict creates one or two things

  1. Couples make each other unhappy
  2. Couples deliberately hurt each other

Jesus Christ is the bridegroom of the Saints, so when you fail to fellowship regularly with the LORD, you make the LORD unhappy, and you also can not have the absolute joy in happiness. You hurt God because you show a preference for others and worldly affairs, and you hurt yourself by your remoteness from God.

Seclusion from God gives room for Satan’s temptations. Commitment and trust are vital bonding links in any marriage. God deserves our Commitment and trust because of His eternal love. To be regenerated, you must have a vital bonding link with God, Fellowship. God gives us His Grace through our Fellowship with Christ. There must be a concord of heart to have fellowship with any man, “Can two walk together unless they are agreed?” At the very bottom of fellowship, there must be a likeness; we must have like wishes, like desires; we must have espoused like ends, and our spirits must be welded together in the intention to effect like purposes.

Fellowship with God was one of the wealthiest privileges of man before the fall. The Lord God walked in the garden and talked with Adam as he talked with his friend. So long as he was willing and obedient, Adam ate the fat of the land, and among the rich dainties and “wines on the lees well refined,” of which his Soul was a partaker. The Scripture told us Enoch walked closely with God, and this action pleased God. God took Enoch away. God called Abraham His friend because he made Fellowship with God a regular habit. There are three (3) essential things needed in walking and fellowshipping with God, and they are:

  1. Exposure

You must be exposed to God. Without daily devotion and regular fellowship, you cannot be exposed to God. 1 Peter 1: 23-2:1. “for you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but imperishable through the living and enduring word of God…”. It is of great importance to be exposed to God through your daily communion and reading of the Scripture.

  1. Passion – Desire for God

Fellowship with God brings out your desire for God. It injects in you a great passion and love for Christ. You get to love God and hate sins; You will be daily renewed spiritually and become a son of God. You will be counted among the Saints and become a wise man who built his house on the rock. (Matthew 7: 33-36). Jesus Christ becomes your rock, your way, and life.

  1. Experience with the living God

Most of the time, you hear employers advertising for employees with adequate experience. Without the Holy Ghost experience, you can not inherit the Kingdom of God. An adage says,” experience is the best teacher” The only way to be holy and blameless is to experience with the living God. Man can only achieve this experience through daily and regular Fellowship with God.

Moses had the experience with God and was never the same. He became an instant leader. That was why Moses alone, of all the Israelites that left Egypt, did not grumble. Others were enslaved people that should have been pleased with their newfound freedom, while Moses was partly a royal, having been brought up in the Royal household like a prince. He left something an ordinary man will call worthwhile behind, yet he never complained, and the reason is that he has been exposed to God, had to passion for God, and has experienced the living God.

Abraham’s servant prayed to God concerning a bride for Isaac (Gen. 24:12-15). Later in the chapter (v. 45), it is said that this prayer had taken place in his heart, so already we see the inwardness of prayer and communion with God.  Isaac experienced the presence of God (Gen. 26:2). Jacob had a profound experience with God in Genesis 32, after which he said, “I saw God face to face” (v. 30). Samuel had such a depth of personal relationship with God that the power of his intercessory prayer was well known (Jer. 15:1).

King David loved God, and his constant Fellowship with God gave him abundant GraceGrace that he recorded and sang in the book of Psalms. Nothing on earth can compare with the peace that flows over the one that Fellowship with God regularly. Our souls wander, seeking a place of rest. Your Soul can find rest only in God. To see God is to seek Him; to seek Him is to fellowship with Him. Fellowship with God is the only way to behold His power and Glory.

The Psalmist words, “Man’s life is but a breath; man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro; He bustles about only in vain; he heaps up wealth not knowing who will get it.” But God is faithful. He rains upon us His love like rain. This love, King David recorded in Psalm 36: 5-9 “Your love, o LORD, reaches to the heavens. Your faithfulness to the skies; Your Justice like the great, deep. O LORD, you preserve both man and beast. How priceless is your unfailing love? High and low among men, find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light, we see the light”.
