C. K. Hofmann found in the Bible record the process of salvation or holy history that aims at the redemption of all humanity. This process will not be fully completed until the eschatological consummation. The heart of religion is personal fellowship with God as Father and Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Like the Psalmist said, the matter’s conclusion is to fear God and keep His commandments. The light of life is in Jesus Christ. The heart of religion is in oiling the fellowship with the Father daily. We are called to be the light of the world. Christians must adhere to the Faith in Christ. There is no other assurance of salvation greater than having the Son of God as our Lord and Savior.
The key to a victorious life is in Jesus’ words in Mark 11:23: “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
Jesus further assures us in v24 that whatever you pray for, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them. The only condition attached is forgiveness of sin. To forgive those that sin against you so that your heavenly Father may forgive you too. I pray to God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” to make His light shine in our hearts and our homes and give us the light of the knowledge of His glory in the face of Christ. Amen. The wind blows in this world where the devil directs it; the only way out of foolish chases is to remain focused on Christ Jesus. Christ is the wind’s stabilizer and defender of the righteous.
Chasing the wind is a wasted effort. Let us rise and celebrate Jesus Christ. Let us take the first step towards our liberation from the world of darkness (Skotia). Let us be counted as Children of Light. It is only then we are assured of Eternity. Life is concise, but God is eternal. We have, as an example, the Father of faith, Abraham. He trusted in God and placed his life in the hands of God. He did not chase the wind but trusted God, who is in control of the winds of life. Abraham’s disposition is echoed in Hebrews 11:8; “By Faith, Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” That was reality, trusting in the Omnipresence and Omniscient God.
To stop chasing the wind, one needs to worship the Lord and commit one’s life to God’s Hand. “You must worship the Lord with gladness.” (Psalm 100:2a). Apart from being a man of faith, Abraham was called a friend of God. Today is the right time to cultivate God’s friendship and stay in His presence. Love, money, power, and women are some of the things men run after. They all take you away from God, and these are classified as Chasing the wind.
