Forgiveness and Mercy (Being Merciful) 2 – Final

How to be Merciful:

The parable of the unmerciful servant (Matthew 18:21-35) is very apt; Peter’s reference to seven times in verse 21 is a familiar story to Cain’s in Gen. 4:15. And Jesus’ reply to Peter is similar to Lamech’s claim in Gen. 4:24. Jesus did not condone Lamech’s claim in arrogance but agreed that what Lamech said for Mercy extends to all sinners. We do not deserve God’s Mercy, but He gives us Mercy. Significantly few places in Scripture that Jesus refers to anyone as “wicked”; only where the person failed to show Mercy. When you behave like that “unmerciful servant,”; you have misunderstood the Lord’s Grace and Mercy. Unforgiveness and lack of Mercy deprive you of God’s Joy, Favour, and Grace.

Forgiveness in this light means we never seek recourse to compensation, whether in the form of an apology or any other form of retribution. Mercy in biblical Greek (NT) is less meaning Mercy, pity, Compassion (Original Word: ?ëåïò, ïõò, ôü). In biblical Hebrew (OT), Mercy is a concept integral to understanding God’s dealings with humankind. In English translations of the Bible, it comes to expression in phrases such as “to be merciful,” “to have mercy on,” or “to show mercy toward.” The related term, “merciful,” describes a quality of God and one that God requires of his people.

The noun denotes compassion and Love, not just feelings or emotions, as expressed in tangible ways. Several Hebrew and Greek terms lie behind the English term “mercy.” The chief Hebrew term is hesed [d,s,j], God’s covenant “loving-kindness.” Jesus said in Matt. 9:13 “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but the sinners”. Anyone that fails to show Mercy will only be locked in his emotional prison. We must give away compassion and forgiveness as God has given to us. Before I mention what Mercy Is, there is a need to know what Mercy is Not.

What Mercy Is Not!

  1. Mercy is not denying or ignoring wrongdoing.
  2. Mercy is not condoning or enabling sin.
  3. Mercy is not a removal of consequences.
  4. Mercy is not a response to an apology.
  5. Mercy does not depend on the perpetrator or offender seeking or asking for forgiveness.
  6. Mercy is not forgetting a one-time thing but a process.
  7. Mercy is not ceasing to feel the pain.
  8. Mercy does not equal trust.
  9. Mercy is not reconciliation
  10. Mercy is not primarily for the other person, but you

What Mercy Is!

  1. Mercy understands the immense Mercy that God has shown you, thus pouring that out on others.
  2. Mercy is giving the kindness of God to others as it has been given to you.
  3. Mercy is canceling a debt owed to you.
  4. Mercy is keeping no records of wrong (especially in marriages)
  5. Mercy is forsaking the revenge, removing it from your hands, and putting it in God’s hands.
  6. Mercy is the sweetest revenge
  7. Mercy is removing the control the offender or perpetrator has on you.
  8. Mercy is leaving ultimate justice to God.
  9. Mercy is voting for wellness: spiritually, physically, and psychologically.
  10. Mercy is remaining in God’s blessing. God blesses the Merciful.

How you know you have un-forgiveness in your heart:

  1. If you tie your happiness to another’s happiness;
  2. If you have an anger problem, especially towards an offender;
  3. When you crave justice rather than Grace;
  4. When you hear bad news about the offender, and you feel satisfied;
  5. If you feel irritation on seeing the offender;
  6. If you get angry quickly;
  7. If you have bitterness;
  8. If you feel happy passing on negative information about the offender;
  9. If you are unable to sleep well; and
  10. If you have pains or feel sick, which causes cannot be easily diagnosed.

Forgiveness and Mercy (Being Merciful) 1

Forgiveness is talking about:

  1. the importance of Mercy
  2. the consequences of being unmerciful and
  3. the character of God who draws us into being merciful through his unfailing Mercy towards us.

An anonymous quote says “When Forgiveness flows freely, Love washes as waves from the sea” – Clemency. When we feel wronged, we readily identify the need for an ‘apology’ but seldom see the vital need to forgive because this forgiveness must flow from us to the offender or perpetrator of the wrong. It is crucial to have forgiveness / Mercy if you want the life God wants for us. A spiritually formed believer forgives easily and is merciful, and Mercy produces wellness and good health.

Un-forgiveness causes many medical issues like headaches, pains, arthritis, indigestion, clutching teeth, etc. Bitter and angered people are not easy to be around; they cannot sleep and cause discomfort around themselves. Medical experts agree that those who hold on to bitterness and un-forgiveness ruin their bodies physically and psychologically. God knows what is best for us, so He wants us to forgive and be merciful. Jesus taught us “forgiveness” in our Lord’s Prayer and Matthew’s Beatitudes. 5:1-12. Jesus gave us the Beatitudes to help us reach the Kingdom of Heaven. The Beatitudes references the blessed attitudes that lead to Joy and Happy Living.

Importance of Mercy (Merciful)

Matt. 5:7 “Blessed are merciful for they will be shown mercy.” God gives Mercy freely. It shows us the character of God. God’s nature is Love, Grace, Omniscient, Sovereign, Holy, and Merciful. Sometimes He shows wrath because He hates the sin, but wrath is not God’s nature or characteristic but what God does because He wants to correct us in Love when we go against His commandments. When you live a life of bitterness and un-forgiveness, you hurt yourself. Living the life of Mercy is predicated on being formed in the character of Jesus Christ. A church must be merciful to count as a church of God indeed. Mercy hinges on Love. A merciful church is a transforming church, not one standing on moral grounds, just condemning sinful habits. All are wretched and fall short of the glory of God. We walk only in the Mercy and Grace of God. In Christ, there is no condemnation.

#Punching Bag Set for Adults & Teens

To be merciful, we need to understand what Mercy is and not. Gospel of Matthew walks us through those definitions and leads us into a deeper understanding of how to walk through the process of forgiveness. If you cannot forgive the way Jesus has forgiven us, then you do not know who Jesus is! If you are not merciful, you cannot experience the Mercy of God. If you live the way of showing Mercy, God will change many things around you. If you walk in Mercy, you experience the beautiful and Gospel-driven future. “Forgiveness does not alter the past, but it enlarges the future.”

Grace of Fellowship 5 (Final)

Fellowship with God includes but is not limited to:
(I John 1:5-7 )
I. Hearing God’s Word.
a. We must listen to what God has to say.
b. We must open our hearts to hear Him.
c. That means we must want to hear Him.
II. Obeying God’s Word. (Do it!)
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your selves.” (James 1:22)
Note the parable of the two sons. (Mt. 21:28- 31)
III. Staying or abiding in God’s Word.
a. We must keep the Word in us,
b. We must keep ourselves in the Word.

Some chores are involved in Fellowship with God:
1. Singing songs of praises, hymns, and chanting Psalms
2. Reading the Scripture
3. Studying the Scripture
4. Meditating on the Scripture
5. Applying the Word of Scripture to daily life experiences (Application of the Word of God)
6. Prayer of Adoration
7. Prayer of Confession & Repentance
8. Prayer of Thanksgiving
9. Prayer of supplication
a. intercessory prayer
b. petition
c. warfare
10. Preaching the Word (Gospel sharing)
11. Witnessing & Making disciples for Christ.

Your whole life should be one of continuous Fellowship with Christ. Fellowship with God is not limited to the house; It is also as you drive, cook, washes dirty clothes & dirty plates, serves others, in your office, in the market or stores, in fact, in all your daily activities. When you are in Christ through your daily fellowship, what HE said in John 16: 24 applies to you; “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask, and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” The Grace of God will be sufficient for you, and one can confidently recite Psalm 23:6 “Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” Amen.

The Premise For Having Fellowship With God

The figure of light is often used in the Scriptures to describe good, righteous, and true – Ephesians 5:8-10. Therefore, God is good, righteous, and trustworthy!

The darkness would represent the opposite of light; evil, unrighteousness, falsehood. Therefore we can never think of God as countenancing sin. Fellowship with God requires that a person takes sin seriously. “if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1: 9

1 John 2:1-2 “My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense – Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins. And not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.”

The “Man upstairs,” HIMSELF IS THE PROPITIATION FOR OUR SINS.” The word “propitiation” means “appeasing.” Again, we have fellowship with God in the object the purpose was first formed, namely, His Glory. The deeds of the Most High tend to manifest his majesty and glorify his Godhead. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy hath chosen us in him from before the foundation of the world, and who having, chosen us, will glorify us and bring us to himself at last?”

Fellowship with God is the most prominent characteristic of His plan. Throughout the whole way of salvation, you have seen displayed the justice and the mercy of God, each with undimmed luster. You have seen His Grace in forgiving the sinner; you have seen His holiness in avenging sin upon the substitute. You have seen his truthfulness acting in two ways, his truth in threatening—by no means sparing the guilty, His truth in the promise. The word “fellowship” not only signifies concord of heart, but it implies carrying out of that concord a little further, in converse or mutual Communication.

They who have by His GraceGrace believed, and have been washed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, have peace with God through Jesus Christ our Lord. They are “no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the Saints and of the household of God,” and they have access with boldness into this GraceGrace wherein we stand.

Those in the kingdom under the dispensation of the second Adam have the complete restoration that fellowship lost to them by the sin and disobedience of their first federal head. We can say we have had Fellowship with God in this respect, that the very thing which is His happiness has been our happiness.

Fellowship with God brings us to the same conclusion Apostle Paul preached and wrote in Romans 8: 38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Spiritual Growth can only occur as we learn to know Christ and as we learn to know Christ and as we make Jesus our Savior and the Lord of every part of our lives.

#Spiritual Formation: How to stay in Fellowship with God

Grace of Fellowship 4

Logos is the Word of God, but Rhema is more than the Word; it is the living Word of God that jumps into your peculiar situation, and you can apply it to yourself to attune to the Will of God. When Communication ceases between two people, the closeness hitherto there disappears and is gone. You have to continue to communicate to remain close. Talking is different from Communication. Talking is just words expression from one person to another, whether the person understands or not, but Communication is deeper. It is a two-way affair. Seek to understand and be understood. It is a Win-Win situation.

Fellowship encompasses more than Communication, and when it involves God, it is an act of Worship. Can you imagine a husband and wife not being together or in fellowship? The absence of closeness between husband and wife leads to separation and divorce, so also lack of Fellowship with God leads to Spiritual separation of Spiritual death.

Marital conflict creates one or two things

  1. Couples make each other unhappy
  2. Couples deliberately hurt each other

Jesus Christ is the bridegroom of the Saints, so when you fail to fellowship regularly with the LORD, you make the LORD unhappy, and you also can not have the absolute joy in happiness. You hurt God because you show a preference for others and worldly affairs, and you hurt yourself by your remoteness from God.

Seclusion from God gives room for Satan’s temptations. Commitment and trust are vital bonding links in any marriage. God deserves our Commitment and trust because of His eternal love. To be regenerated, you must have a vital bonding link with God, Fellowship. God gives us His Grace through our Fellowship with Christ. There must be a concord of heart to have fellowship with any man, “Can two walk together unless they are agreed?” At the very bottom of fellowship, there must be a likeness; we must have like wishes, like desires; we must have espoused like ends, and our spirits must be welded together in the intention to effect like purposes.

Fellowship with God was one of the wealthiest privileges of man before the fall. The Lord God walked in the garden and talked with Adam as he talked with his friend. So long as he was willing and obedient, Adam ate the fat of the land, and among the rich dainties and “wines on the lees well refined,” of which his Soul was a partaker. The Scripture told us Enoch walked closely with God, and this action pleased God. God took Enoch away. God called Abraham His friend because he made Fellowship with God a regular habit. There are three (3) essential things needed in walking and fellowshipping with God, and they are:

  1. Exposure

You must be exposed to God. Without daily devotion and regular fellowship, you cannot be exposed to God. 1 Peter 1: 23-2:1. “for you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but imperishable through the living and enduring word of God…”. It is of great importance to be exposed to God through your daily communion and reading of the Scripture.

  1. Passion – Desire for God

Fellowship with God brings out your desire for God. It injects in you a great passion and love for Christ. You get to love God and hate sins; You will be daily renewed spiritually and become a son of God. You will be counted among the Saints and become a wise man who built his house on the rock. (Matthew 7: 33-36). Jesus Christ becomes your rock, your way, and life.

  1. Experience with the living God

Most of the time, you hear employers advertising for employees with adequate experience. Without the Holy Ghost experience, you can not inherit the Kingdom of God. An adage says,” experience is the best teacher” The only way to be holy and blameless is to experience with the living God. Man can only achieve this experience through daily and regular Fellowship with God.

Moses had the experience with God and was never the same. He became an instant leader. That was why Moses alone, of all the Israelites that left Egypt, did not grumble. Others were enslaved people that should have been pleased with their newfound freedom, while Moses was partly a royal, having been brought up in the Royal household like a prince. He left something an ordinary man will call worthwhile behind, yet he never complained, and the reason is that he has been exposed to God, had to passion for God, and has experienced the living God.

Abraham’s servant prayed to God concerning a bride for Isaac (Gen. 24:12-15). Later in the chapter (v. 45), it is said that this prayer had taken place in his heart, so already we see the inwardness of prayer and communion with God.  Isaac experienced the presence of God (Gen. 26:2). Jacob had a profound experience with God in Genesis 32, after which he said, “I saw God face to face” (v. 30). Samuel had such a depth of personal relationship with God that the power of his intercessory prayer was well known (Jer. 15:1).

King David loved God, and his constant Fellowship with God gave him abundant GraceGrace that he recorded and sang in the book of Psalms. Nothing on earth can compare with the peace that flows over the one that Fellowship with God regularly. Our souls wander, seeking a place of rest. Your Soul can find rest only in God. To see God is to seek Him; to seek Him is to fellowship with Him. Fellowship with God is the only way to behold His power and Glory.

The Psalmist words, “Man’s life is but a breath; man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro; He bustles about only in vain; he heaps up wealth not knowing who will get it.” But God is faithful. He rains upon us His love like rain. This love, King David recorded in Psalm 36: 5-9 “Your love, o LORD, reaches to the heavens. Your faithfulness to the skies; Your Justice like the great, deep. O LORD, you preserve both man and beast. How priceless is your unfailing love? High and low among men, find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light, we see the light”.

Grace of Fellowship 3

A regenerated man is Spirit-driven – ‘conscious’ so that his Body, Soul, and Spirit are united through his Spirit to God’s consciousness.

#Soteriology: A comparative Study of Salvation in Christianity & Ifa Mythology

God speaks to us by intuition while communicating with God through our communion. Without communion, we can not reach God, and without intuition, God is not reaching us. Intuition is the organ or faculty of sensing spiritual things. It involves direct sensing, independent of outside influence. Communion is the faculty of Worship. Our Spirit, through communion, can only reach God, and the Worship of God can only take place in the realm of Spirit. Our Soulical organs are not competent to worship God, and we can only worship God through our organ of communion – a spiritual faculty.

#Spartan Fitness & Health Program

In fellowship, the tripartite nature of man must be involved. Apostle Paul says in 1Thessalonians 5:23, “And the very God of peace, sanctify you wholly and I pray your whole spirit and soul and body be presented blameless into the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

#Satan Is Not Omnipotent (The Proof of God’s Omnipotency & Sovereignty)

The unison of these three faculties brings about real Fellowship with God. The other related words for fellowship are:

  1. Companionship
  2. Camaraderie
  3. Comradeship
  4. Friendship
  5. Partnership
  6. Association.

God wants to be our friend, companion, and partner, and he wants to partake and participate in all our endeavors and decisions we make on earth. “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”—1 John 1:3. John says, “Truly our fellowship is “—not was but is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”

#The Beta Switch / Jeans Diet / The Menopause Myth / Female-Only

The first step towards Fellowship with God is repentance from iniquities. David said, “if I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened;” You must not cherish sin, and you must be consumed with the zeal to Fellowship with God. Those who seek God have their hearts live. Every Christian needs to know God personally, and it is an act of fellowship. You can only get to know God by spending personal time with Him.
#Spiritual Formation Book 2
Christians without a quiet time with God are harming themselves. Jesus Christ sets us an example in Mark 1: 35 “Very early in the morning, while was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” The time we spend personally with God is called ‘Quite Time’ or daily devotional time, and this is how we oil the Fellowship with God.

#40″ Navy Blue Large Expandable Rolling 6 Wheeled Duffel Bag Spinner Luggage

Quiet time is essential, and you can set your own time at your convenience in a day; early morning is recommended, but the choice is yours. It must be the regular and same time each day. It is an appointment with God that you must keep, and God keeps its appointment. Prayer is your tool of Communication with God. When you read and meditate on the Word of God, the Word comes alive. God speaks to you through His Word, and the application of His Word in our day-to-day existence called Obedience gives us peace: the peace of the LORD that passeth all understanding. We are being changed as we spend time with God through His Word (the Scripture). We grow in Christian maturity, from Spiritual babes to adults, who have the likeness of the son of God. “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.” 1 Peter 2:2.

Grace of Fellowship 2

#Reduce Me To Love “

The Grace of God abides with anyone who Fellowship with Him regularly. God has blessed us with the Grace of Fellowship as we become regenerated children of God. Man is tripartite by nature. Man is made of the Body, Soul, and Spirit. The Soul stands between the Spirit and the human body. The Soul is linked with the spiritual world through the Spirit and the material world through the physical body. To understand a man’s personality is to understand the conditions of his Soul. The Scripture describes man as a living soul, and the Soul is the center of man’s self-consciousness.

The Soul of man has three main faculties or distinct functions (Senses): The Will, The Mind, and Emotion. The Will is called Volition, and the Mind is called Intellect. Emotion is also known as the house of Feelings. Decisions are made inside our Will and the ability to do things. The ability to know things come from the Mind. Mind is the house of reasoning and thoughts, and it is the seat of learning. It is the instrument of our thoughts that manifest our intellectual power. Emotion (our feelings) houses our likes and dislikes. We can express love, hate, joy, sadness, etc.

The man’s Spirit also has three faculties, The Conscience, Intuition, and Communion. The Spirit of man is the noblest part of man. Only with the Spirit can man commune with and worship God. The Spirit of God dwells with the Spirit of the regenerated man and makes man capable of holding intercourse with the spiritual world and the Spirit of God. Proverbs 20:27 says, “The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, searching all the inward parts of the belly.”

#Garden of Life. Dr. Formulated Probiotics for Women, Once Daily#

Our Conscience is God’s policeman to prick us when we sin or go our way contrary to God’s Will. It acts spontaneously by direct intuitive knowledge, and it is that faculty by which we apprehend the Will of God. Our Conscience is God’s programming to know His Will. Even non-Christians have a conscience that God has programmed to respond to right and wrong. It is why so many people today suffer from guilt complexes because they operate against what their consciences tell them is right. The Conscience is not controlled through human senses or guided by stored-up or acquired knowledge.

The heart may be taken as Conscience of man as it houses the Conscience. The Scripture refers to the heart as the Conscience. Conscience (the heart) calls the court in God’s name and acts for Him. If our Conscience condemns us, God does so too; but God is a greater witness than our Conscience. If our Conscience is clear, we can approach God without fear. The promise of Jesus Christ was re-affirmed by Apostle John in 1 John 3: 21, 22 “Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.”
